Blacksmithing workshop
In February 2026, I embarked on a new adventure. Blacksmithing workshop at Openbarewerkplaats in Amsterdam.
The goal was to learn basic blacksmithing techniques using manual tools and traditional forges. The end product after four three-hour sessions—a knife of our design that we got to take home!
The workshop was very straightforward—roll up your sleeves and hit some iron. The masters were great, the helped and corrected us along the way, and I fully recommend them. But as it really did not follow any enforced structure, I don't plan to document it here as an instructional booklet.
So, this was our journey. And like most things in life, everything is better with a true friend. :)
